Using the Page Inspector to Highlight Fields on the Page

Business Central 2023 Wave 2 (BC23) allows you to highlight fields on the page using the Page Inspector.

Ever looked for a field and could not find it? No more. Even if the tab on the page is not expanded (show more), it will find the field.

Here you can see that I am looking for the field “Your Reference”, which is not visible right now because the General tab is not expanded:

After clicking on the field in the Page Inspector, the General tab expands and the field is highlighted on the page:

If the field is not available on the actual page it won’t work:

So at least it has to be inserted via personalization or code.

Small, but such a cool feature – I can’t tell how many times I’ve looked for a field on the page – especially when it wasn’t Business Central Standard.
