How to Use Copilot for Number Series in Business Central

Sometimes it can be a real pain in the neck – let us say head.

To get rid of this pain, one of the “godfathers” of Copilot in Business Central, Dmitry Katson, made some contributions to the Business Central code, which luckily found its way into the product with Business Central 2024 Wave 2. Suggest number series with Copilot

To use it, simply open the Number Series page and press the Copilot button:

As with any other Copilot feature, you get some immediate ideas:

So what exactly can we do:

• Setup the Number Series for the coming years
• Setup for a specific module like sales, purchase, service and so on
• We can change an existing series

So all in all you have to do manually. So let’s see the most common thing I guess, setting up the number series for next year:

Tbh I waited about 40-50 seconds to get the result, but I just get everything:

In total, there are 116 number series that need to be adjusted for each year. Copilot took me about 40-50 seconds, I think that is a good deal.

So all in all this feature can save you a lot of time in managing your company or setting up new companies.
