It’s that time of year when we receive the official release plan for Wave 2 of Business Central.

The Sales Order Agent can finally handle attachments and receive instructions while reviewing its tasks — thumbs up!
Autofill and Summarize have improved features and now work better, faster, and smarter. Thumbs up!
Connecting AI agents to BC through the MCP server gets a thumbs up! (If executed well.)
I was pretty sure the Payables Agent was announced for GA in October 2025, but it suddenly disappeared. Thumbs down!

Boom! We are finally able to extend Copilot! This will allow us to provide our customers with a personalized Copilot experience. It sounds promising; we’ll see what it’s capable of once we can test it.

That’s not my area of expertise, so I’d better skip that.
Reporting and data analysis

If you follow Kennie Nybo Pontoppidan | LinkedIn then you know that Microsoft has invested heavily in reporting. This upcoming wave is no exception. If you work in reporting, you should definitely take a look—major improvements are waiting for you!
Supply chain management

A new module is incoming with the Quality Management extension. We’ll see what it’s capable of. GA is scheduled for December 2025.
Sustainability Management

Since Continia is withdrawing their module, the Microsoft module might become more appealing. It has also been a significant investment for the last 1-2 versions, and it still is.
It also gets copilot functionality.
Conclusion
In short, it’s AI again (of course). Since I’m one of those guys who doesn’t talk about much else besides AI, I’m quite happy with it.
But let’s not forget that it’s not just AI. Microsoft is still investing a lot in new modules, better functionalities, and more to make Business Central an even better ERP.
