Copilot, agents, and AI in general are the main topics of the moment. However, customers also want and need automation.
With the built-in Power Automate capabilities in Business Central, you can automate several processes right out of the box.
You’ll find this feature in the action bar on almost every page.

But what can we actually do with it without extensive Power Automate knowledge? Let me show you.
There are three options:
- Create Automated Flow
- Create a flow that is automatically triggered by a specific action/process in the system. You don’t have to start this flow manually.
- Create action based on a flow
- Create a flow that must be started manually, for example, by clicking on a newly created page action.
- Manage flows
- Open your Power Automate Admin Center
So far, so good. But what do I mean by “out of the box”? We’re going to provide you with many templates for out-of-the-box processes that you can set up and activate in seconds. Let’s take a look:

This is what you will see when you click on “Create Automated Flow.” Business Central offers about 20 templates that you can use to set up a flow in seconds. Let me show you. We use this one:

After clicking on the template, the setup will begin.

The connections and permissions will be checked to see if you have access to any other required applications. You can also change the name of your flow.
Click Next.

Since we want the message to be posted in Teams, we need to set up the team and channel.

And that’s it! Now, all we have to do is click on “Create Flow,” and our flow will be created and activated.

It’s not too hard, is it? Let’s see if it works.

Also, check Teams.

It was simple — no rocket science. Of course, you can modify flows created from a template — change the result (e.g., email instead of Teams), add filters, etc.
Creating a flow from a template can also give you ideas for creating your own flow from scratch. For me personally, the next big thing is creating your flows in Business Central with Copilot.

With BC Connectors included in the BC license at no extra cost and this easy-to-use setup, you have to try this feature! It’s worth it!
As always, here’s a short video.
