Microsoft’s Dynamics 365 Business Central is introducing a feature that allows users to efficiently search for specific data across the platform. Recognizing that office workers spend nearly 20% of their time searching for information, this feature aims to streamline the search process.
Users can initiate a search from the “Tell Me” dialog using the Alt+Q shortcut, regardless of where they are in Business Central. The search functionality is context-aware; for instance, if used within an editable page, it will automatically search for the value in the currently selected field. Search results prioritize the most relevant data based on the user’s role.
While the default search scope encompasses data available in the user’s Role Center and accessible tables, users have the flexibility to customize this scope for faster results. Additionally, users can specify which tables and fields are included in the search to further refine results.
You can have a closer look on the Microsoft Docs Page:

It is already available in a preview version in current sandboxes:
Your customer just gave you a number, what was it again? Order, Invoice, Credit Memo? Nevermind, just search for it:

You also can directly open the document by clicking on the result:

Pretty useful feature in my opinion that can save a huge amount of time simply looking for data. Give it a try!
