Directions for Partners EMEA 2025 – Recap

Posted on November 8, 2025

New Logo, gazillion tons of #AI – that’s it see you in Paris!….

Just kidding! This year, thirteen colleagues from @kumavision and I attended the #DirectionsEMEA conference in Poznań. It was our first time presenting at the conference. In our team session, we discussed #RAG and #Vector Databases for #BusinessCentral, and in my solo session, I demonstrated how easy it is to set up your #PowerAutomate flow directly in #BusinessCentral

One of the main topics in the keynote was, of course, the agents in Business Central. First up were the #SalesOrderAgent and the #PayablesAgent. These two will automate nearly your entire sales and payable processes. “Human in the loop” is still implemented, so nothing “unseen” leaves Business Central. Users have to review critical steps or steps requiring assistance, and this is a good thing!

The other topics from the keynote were sustainability, quality management, e-documents, and Dataverse mappings. With Wave 1 in 2026, we will receive updates to the following modules/features:

After the keynote the exciting and exhausting part begins….sessions, sessions, session…. And of course, as in any year there were too many in way too less time. Also often, unfortunately, concurrent so you had to triage whicht too attend. I attended exciting sessions from Tine Staric Andrew Wingate Blazej Kotelko Stefano Demiliani Duilio Tacconi Steffen Balslev And they simply hit it out of the park. Of course, you knew about many of the topics beforehand, but attending a session with those guys and having a quick chat with them afterwards is a whole different experience.

Then, on Day 2, the keynote was all about agents. Consultants, consultants, consultants. MCP, MCP, MCP… WTF? The Agent Framework will allow us to create our own agents inside Business Central without coding. We might need to write a little AL code to create dedicated pages or role centers for the agent, but that’s pretty much it. Amazing!

Golden Age of Consultants. I really liked the Microsoft Video for this where Peter Borring Sørensen had to “work hard” to meet the requirements from his manager Dmitry Chadayev . He used some code vibing which showed how easy consultants could create some type of prototyping for a customer requirement. Fortunately Steffen Balslev came on stage and showed us why we still need developers. However, there will definitely be a change for every job role in our business—no doubt about that. That change needs to start now!

After this keynote again, sessions, sessions, sessions. Most exciting one from Kennie Nybo Pontoppidan about #MCP for Business Central. We are now able to use that in #CopilotStudio out of the box and this will change the way we create our agents! It’s easy to set up and works instantly. Then, in the evening, the party began. It was late—maybe a little too late.

Why? Because on the third day, we had our session, and one of the comments about my presentation was that I looked tired as a speaker. I have to confess that I was tired. Not only because of the party, but also because I had already experienced two exciting days. The third day was pretty much just our sessions and preparing for them. After our session, that was it.

I really enjoyed meeting you all in person, and hopefully we will see each other again in Paris!
