In Business Central, you already have the ability to create sales lines through Copilot:

Here are some prompt ideas to generate your sales lines:

You can also copy and paste email content into the prompt and the prompt will generate or suggest sales lines.
With Business Central 2024 Wave 2, you can now upload a file (csv only for now) and Copilot will analyze it and suggest sales lines for you.
Let’s have a look:

My super complex file looks like this:

For now, only comma-separated files are allowed. Let’s upload and see the result:

The result is pretty good, although the price is missing. Even calling the column by its Business Central name doesn’t help. Maybe this will work later. But the rest is quite good.
The suggested sales line is, like almost every other Copilot feature, a draft at first. So you can change the item, quantity and so on. When you click on insert, the lines are inserted into your document.

On the bright side, with an additional add-on, you can now handle files from your customer regarding orders. If you can commit your customer to a specific pattern for the csv file, you will not have many problems importing it into Business Central.
On the other hand, for now we can “only” use .csv comma separated. And some details like price are not recognized by Copilot for now.
Let’s see what the future will bring. I am pretty sure Microsoft will handle these things, I dont want to call it issues 🙂
And as always, a short video on how to use it:
